About Artist Carolyn Walsh
  1. Carolyn Walsh originally from Cahirciveen, Co.Kerry, currently living and studying for an MA in Graphic Design in Dublin.
  2. She has exhibited her paintings and prints in venues and galleries such as Urban Outfitters, Habitat and Brown Thomas. She has worked for clients including Hotpress, Toyota and Absolute Zero (the netherlands).
  3. Her work has recieved a lot of recognition since graduating with a degree in Art and Design and Textile design from GMIT (Galway) followed by features in publications such as Digital Arts, The Big Book of Contemporary Illustration and Irish Interior magazines.
  4. Carolyn's work is hugely inspired by the urban environment, by textures found in everyday life, surrounding us on the streets and buildings, the stickered and graffitied walls, peeling and fading, unplanned and unpredicted, the slums- the run down buildings which were once in immaculate condition, the hustle and bustle that surrounds us are all depicted in her work to create a series of 'Utopian Visions'.
  5. This is the main theme to her work.
  6. All images are built up layers using either photoshop, paint, stencils, collage and spraypaint all either on canvas or digitally printed on various fabrics.
