About Artist Catrina O'Prey
  1. I've always had a passion for sunsets and evening sky's and this is where I take my inspiration to paint. I love the soothing feeling of sunsets and its effect on the landscape and sea, which I try to capture in my paintings using oil as my main medium which gives me the effect I want.
  2. I love using exaggerated colour as my source of self-expression to capture the feelings of the richness of colours that are thrown across the sky by the sun and to try and achieve its uplifting and soothing mood into all my paintings. I also love to paint colourful floral art and creating images from sea shells and beads, buttons and old pieces of jewellery. I paint and create on canvas and hardboard and mostly enjoy working on a large scale. I actively take part in local group exhibitions around Belfast and Co Down and currently have 4 pieces of art on display at the Art Works Galley in Castlewellan Co Down. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my artwork.
