About Artist Claire Buckley

Originally from France, Claire Buckley has been living near Roundwood in County Wicklow for the last sixteen years. She has studied art with the artist Paula Kearney in Ashford.
Whereas for the last few years, her work had been based on her love for the beautiful nature surrounding her, Claire's work recently took on an entirely new direction.
The two series Hope and Joy were inspired by photos of children having fun as they are playing, giving the artist the chance to express her love for life, and the search for light, whatever that light represents for each of us.
For the Mexican Ceremony series, Claire got her inspiration from small ancient Mexican statues (Ceremonial Gathering, c.750 BC), and decided to explore the slightly darker side of her personality!
