About Artist Donna McGee

The Irish landscape is a constant source of inspiration to me. My aim is to try and capture the essence of this timeless beauty, both in traditional and abstract form.
I work mainly in oils creating layers of rich texture. I continue to work on my painting until I feel it can tell its own story. The play of light and the shadows cast upon the earth, contrasted against dramatic skies, moonlit harbours and rugged coastlines; all evoke memories of places once visited, in addition to stimulating thoughts of well-being and harmony.
