Kate Bedell graduated from Dun Laoghaire School of
Art and Design in 1984 with a Distinction in Fine
Art. She works mainly in watercolour with inclusion
of mixed media (acrylic) and handmade paper collage
to add texture to the surface of the watercolour
paper.
Her subject matter incorporates flowers, landscapes
and figures with an emphasis on the sunflower, primarily
for its symbolic significance of life energy and power.
During her stay in India for 7 years she painted a
series of Indian Women, reflecting the colours and
textures of this enigmatic place.
Kate is presently living and working in Sandyford, Dublin
18. She is a member of the Water Colour Society of Ireland,
and the Dublin Painting and Sketching Club.
