Biography
Gabrielle Bowe was born in Waterford in 1950. She moved to
Dublin in 1968 and has lived and worked there since. Gabrielle
started her art career creating textile pieces which she
exhibited regularly at The Patchwork Society Annual Exhibitions.
She took classes in oil painting
with artist Helen Ridgway for several years. By way of subject
matter Gabrielle has done mainly portraits, still life and
landscapes.
The paintings in this series are a metaphor for the journey
through life. There are two strands to this metaphor.
