Biography

Gabrielle Bowe was born in Waterford in 1950. She moved to Dublin in 1968 and has lived and worked there since. Gabrielle started her art career creating textile pieces which she exhibited regularly at The Patchwork Society Annual Exhibitions.

She took classes in oil painting with artist Helen Ridgway for several years. By way of subject matter Gabrielle has done mainly portraits, still life and landscapes.

The paintings in this series are a metaphor for the journey through life. There are two strands to this metaphor.
