Biography

Brian Manning was born in Sandymount and currently resides in Bray, Co. Wicklow.

'Relections' the original by William Orpen is on display in the Hugh Lane gallery but I could not find even one image of it on the internet so my lacklustre version will have to suffice.

'Here Comes Tobor' is painted from a still in one of the Terminator movies. Stan Winston was the special effects creator of the robot. In the 1950's there was a tv show called Here Comes Tobor. Tobor is Robot backwards.

'Sillhou-rob-ette' and "Robot Love" are Daft Punk tributes.

'Da Ding Ding' is Mandarin for Big Bum. In the hip-hop video scene there is are video models/dancers. A sub-genre of these video-vixens as they are called cultivate their gluteous regions to develop their shake. Some resort to plastic implants. This is hilarious to me. This is the first in a series of paintings.
