Biography

Joanna was born in Poland, in the university town of Wroclaw. She was drawing sketches throughout her youth but channelled that talent into her chosen career Architecture. Ireland was always was a place of dreams and freedom and two days after graduation from university in Wroclaw she was in Dublin working in a typical Irish bar before getting a job as an Architect. Ireland gave her the sense of personal freedom to explore many issues including love, independence, freedom and art. It was a place where all ideas were welcome in what to her was the spiritual home of revolution & rebellious thoughts.

My work is inspired by the current feeling in Ireland and by mindset of Irish citizens. It from the perspective of a strong woman into the nature of male feelings, frustrations and male beauty as an iconic element in Irish society. I generally gravitate towards a strong palette of colours and do not hesitate to reflect the reality- as I see it. Man, recession and rugby- that is what is reflected in my paintings as a viewpoint of current Irish society.
