About Artist Kathryna Cuschieri
  1. Kathryna Cuschieri BAhons was born in Malta and now lives and works in beautiful Co.Clare. She studied Fine Art at Coventry University, England .She worked in stone and clay for many years but after moving from England to Ireland her interest in glass work deepened and through experimentation learnt how to fuse and slump glass in her studio in Glendree,in east Clare. The sea's great influence on her life can be seen throughout her work as well as the Irish landscape, literal as well as mythical. The majority of her work involves taking body casts and creating fused pieces of work that are slumped into the body molds. The process involves getting connected to the person to be cast's inner landscape and allowing them to transfer feeling and emotions that have been held within their life into the cast and thereby affecting the outcome of the final piece of glass work.
  2. Kathryna has had exhibitions in England and Ireland, and has worked as an artist in the community for the past 25 years. Her most recent exhibition has been in the Ennistymon Court House gallery. She is available for commissions.
