About Artist Maurice Noble
  1. Modern day cave artist from Finglas, on Dublin's north side, now living in Skerries, North County Dublin, with wife, Anne; also an artist plus their two daughters, Avril & Heather.
  2. Painting for over 30 years, primarily using oils on board or canvas, my personal challenge is creating a language that portrays emotional activity. The responses to internal and external stimuli and as such my work can fluctuate from the representational to abstract. Using fingers, knives and various instruments to create textures and forms, the meditative process becomes as important as the finished piece, the sensual joy when two, three colours fuse as one may validate the remainder of a canvas.
  3. These works reflect my solitary artistic journey, they are a unique record of my journey, paradoxically, a uniqueness inherent in us all as 'Emotional Beings' and the feelings we associate with places and events, my hope is the viewer can sense this connection.
