About Artist Niamh Slack
  1. I am a landscape artist, based in Dundrum, Dublin. Working in oils and acryclics, my art draws its inspiration from the natural landscape. Painting outdoors whenever possible, I especially enjoy depicting the woodland and coastal scenes of the East and West of Ireland.
  2. My art is about capturing the essence of those places that strike a chord with me. Perhaps more importantly than this, my paintings are about my love of colour. When working in oils, I am continuously experimenting with the placing of heavy layers of colour on canvas, and I aim to capture the richness of colour in our natural landscape.
  3. Previous exhibition include group shows at the Ballina Arts Centre annual Prespectives Exhibition ('08 and '09), Dalkey Winter Fair ('09), Affordable Art Sale at Simpsons Hospital ('08), Hunt the Postcard at the Hunt Museum, Limerick ('09), and the RDS Art Fair ('08 and '09).
