About Artist Walid Ayed
  1. Walid Ayed is an Irish artist, he is of Palestinian background, born and raised in the Lebanon. He has seen conflict from an early age living through the Civil War in Lebanon. He has experienced and observer the inequalities that exist in most, if not all, nations and societies.
  2. He has been involved in various forms of artistic expression; Photography, Film Making, Theatre and Visual Art ,some of which appears above.
  3. In his travels he has been impressed with the beauty of the World and what gifts it offers all humanity. While many enjoy a very full life, some in abundance, not all can enjoy this beauty and these gifts. Conflicts and turmoils, poverty and deprivation on the planet prevent many from the joy of living out their lives to the fullest. This not only limits them but limits their possible potential inputs in their societies.
  4. Today, from his viewpoint, these conflicts are internal in families and nations and external between nations. Poverty, discrimination and racism are everywhere. He has seen it from the streets of New York to the poorest countries. Everywhere people live on the edge. Everywhere people are living unfulfilled lives.
  5. Even though he has traveled extensively his thoughts are unable to reconcile this dichotomy. Is there one God for some and no God for others? Is there a secret system at work preventing equal opportunities for all? are some more deserving than others?
  6. Somehow, through his Art, Walid would like to bring these two extremes closer. He feels his existence would be justified if he could help humanity achieve its potenial even in the smallest way.
