About Artist Yavan
  1. From a very early age Klm Yavan has been inspired by forms and colours, and dabbled in many forms of expressing his art which stems from this interest, from cutting mosaics using half precious stones, which he then fitted into walls, melting colourful candles into shapes with intricate decoration running through on their sides, painting glassware as well as windows and large walls the latter with bigger figures.
  2. He originally started painting his images on material such as paper/rice paper/wooden board and usually with acrylic paints, he then gradually moved on to working on canvas, like rough linen, and to using oil paints.
  3. His technique is based on drawing skill and practice, also inventing and intuition, he uses brush, as well as knife alone, too. The themes of his images are mainly fictional, sometimes mythological with imaginary creatures moving along the scenery, but many stories of his telling root in History, and in the Bible too.
  4. Collectors of his works are mainly from Ireland, Hungary, but also from other countries, like USA, Greece, South Africa and China. He previously worked in different areas of art fields, including art therapy, and helping the work of art foundations.
  5. He now lives in Dublin & Budapest, while having exhibitions throughout the world since 2002, the latest for the invitation of 798 Art Promotion Centre in Beijing, China.
