Aileen Vermeulen Art (Download The Catalogue)

My name is Aileen Vermeulen, I was born in Holland to a Dutch father and an Irish mother.

From as long as I can remember I have always loved to draw and paint. I have been very fortunate to have traveled from a very young age, and I have lived in many different countries. It was the different cultures, and people that I have encountered which has definitely inspired me in my figurative painting.

The bright and vivid colors nature provides us with, has also played a big part in what I use for my painterly inspirations, this shows in my use of bright Acrylic paint I use in my landscape paintings.

At university, I studied 3D Product Design with the mediums of ceramics and glass, at the University of central England in Birmingham. Even though I enjoyed learning to express myself with the use different art mediums, I always came back to painting.
