Joseph Behan Art (Download The Catalogue)

Joseph Behan has devoted the last ten years working as an equestrian artist in his workshop and studio in his native County Kildare. In his late 50's he has spent many years working as a Portrait (cum Scenic) Artist in the North (of what was then called "West") Germany and has had his studios in many of the cities he lived in (i.e Berlin/ Niedersachen and Dusseldorf. He works mainly in the medium of 0ils...but also has a fondness for Acrylics (a medium which lends itself to applying transparent glazes better than 0ils!), water-colours and pastel (most of his full-length portraits were done in Pastel...one which has a long tradition dating back to the French artists of the 18th and 19th century).
