A LITTLE BIT OF ART

Marina Anderson is a graduate from Limerick School of Art and Design 1993. Originally from Glen, Carrigart, Co Donegal, is now living and working near Dublin.

"Since College I have dabbled on and off painting and teaching. In my thirties I became involved with my other love, horses. Working as a riding Instructor I've been kept very busy. During this time I have met wonderful people and their horses, who have encouraged me to paint. Subsequently gaining some commissions. Posting these works on Facebook, I was contacted by Anna Mclaughlin, also from Glen and a fellow graduate of LSAD. Anna asked me if I would be interested in getting some work together and exhibit during the August 2014 "Feile, Carraig Arts and Culture" festival, which I did. it was a great success.

To date I have a small eclectic selection of drawings and paintings, past and present. I love to draw and paint what I see. I am a very literal artist. I have a passion for seeking natural line, shape and colour. I love spending time mixing the best colour on the palatte, creating a very realistic image on the canvas. My old life-drawing coach would push me to look harder and see more. This really resonated with me and is what pushes me to paint or draw the images I find. I enjoy portraiture, man or beast!! I really hope you enjoy my work and if you have any questions or queries don't hesitate to ask.
