Michael Monaghan Art (Download The Catalogue)

Michael Monaghan was born in Dublin and began painting at an early age. As a self taught Artist he began life-sketching portraits in his teenage years. He worked as a Police Artist and used his hand drawing skills in conjunction with computer composites for mainly facial work. He retired in 2007 and since then has explored and developed his own Art.

His paintings are noted for their great depth of colour and warmth capturing shifting moods of light and shade. Michael has exhibited his work in various Galleries and Exhibitions in Ireland, including Art Ireland, Kilkenny Arts Festival and Wexford Opera Festival. He has also exhibited in New York, USA. His work is represented by many Public and Private collections, including Eircom, the Russian Embassy and many Hotels in Ireland, and also in many collections throughout Europe, USA, Australia and China.

The dominant themes of his work are flowers, landscapes and figures. Michael loves exploring these various subjects in order to keep the passion alive, as he believes painting to be a joy, a liferlong journey and a passionate pursuit. E: michaelmonaghanart@gmail.com
