Ruth Kelly Art (Download The Catalogue)

I am a contemporary artist with a particular interest in realism. My paintings are mainly acrylic on canvas board although I do dabble in oils from time to time. My art is inspired by the people around me and life events which provides me with a plethora of diverse subjects to paint. I also paint children's wall art during those times when I'm patiently waiting for my oils to dry!

My background is in the computer industry working mainly in the Planning/Logistics arena but painting has been an itch I've needed to scratch all my life. I guess you could say the urge to paint is in my genes as my maternal ancestry includes a line of artists including my great grandfather, Michael Ryan and my third cousin, renowned Irish artist, Fergus O'Ryan. I hope you enjoy my art!
